Kiwis helping Kiwis.

KidsCan StandTall is a registered Charitable Trust that was founded in August 2005 with support from Guardian Trust. We currently receive partial Government support for our ‘Food for Kids’ programme and we rely on the generosity of individual givers, key partners, community trusts and foundations to continue our work in New Zealand.

Each year KidsCan StandTall runs a number of fundraising campaigns and we also receive funding from supporters who are members of our ‘In Our Own Backyard’ child sponsorship club.

Naturally, we are always very grateful for any contribution you can make. Click here to read a copy of our latest annual report.

Our policy for prudent management.

We believe there is an obligation on charities to ensure the money they receive is used responsibly. With this in mind, we have implemented the following code for prudent and transparent financial management:

  • There will always be two Trustee signatories on each cheque written.
  • Any individual or closely related payments totaling $30,000 or over will need approval from the Board before payment.
  • Any cheques totaling $30,000 or over must be signed by one or two of the other Trustees dependent on amount.
  • A financial report for the preceding period (two months) will be provided for each executive meeting.
  • An annual budget will be decided by the Board in December each year and any expenditure over the budgeted amount must be approved by the Board.
  • No overdraft facilities will be entered into without the written consent of the Board.
  • Payment of GST and PAYE by the due date will be the responsibility of the Office Manager.
  • Financial accounts will be prepared annually by an independent Chartered Accountant.
  • An annual audit will be completed by April each year and filed with the Charities Commission.
  • All records shall be kept for a minimum of seven years in a secure setting.
  • Back ups will be made of all financial documentation monthly and stored in a secure location off site.
