Equality means having the same status, rights and opportunities as everyone else. Sadly right here "In Our Own Backyard" many children live in deprivation. This impacts the quality of their lives now and also their chances for success in the future.
Without the basics; good food and warm clothing, many children turn up to school cold, hungry and unable to learn, making it difficult for them to unlock their potential. This can lead to feelings of worthlessness which can often affect their confidence for many years to come.
The KidsCan Charitable Trust meets the physical and nutritional needs of New Zealand children living in poverty, so they can be more engaged in their education and have a better chance of reaching their full potential. We need your help to make that happen.

The "In Our Own Backyard" child sponsorship programme provides disadvantaged children the basics many people take for granted.
How does it work?
Become a member by donating $15 or more per month and 100% of your contribution will be used to provide a child in need with a pair of shoes, two pairs of socks, a raincoat and food at school. We’ll send you a membership pack once you are on board and we will also keep you informed with our bi-monthly newsletter and updates on how your donation is making a ongoing difference.
Remember 100% of your donation will go directly to the kids.
