Letter from Ali Williams
Dear Friend
When the KidsCan Trust approached me to become an Official Patron I didn’t hesitate to lend my support to this worthwhile cause. My aim is to assist KidsCan in any way I can to make a difference in the lives of underprivileged children. I have always been a keen sportsperson, playing soccer, tennis and cricket before being selected to play for the All Blacks in 2002. I am grateful for the opportunities provided to me and support from people who taught me to believe in myself when I was growing up. It is a fact that not all children have the chance to reach their full potential. It saddened me to learn that there are literally thousands of children in New Zealand who consistently go hungry and who suffer from increased illness in winter because they do not have a raincoat to keep them warm and dry. I believe by working together to meet the basic physical needs of disadvantaged kids we can, and will enable them to excel at whatever they choose to do. I feel proud to be part of an organisation whose focus is to provide positive intervention for children at an early age and invite you to join with me, as together we can assist an even greater number of kids.

Letter from Doug Howlett
Dear Friend
Having played rugby since the age of 6 I feel extremely grateful for the opportunities my parents provided for me which have enabled me to fulfil my dream of becoming an All Black, representing New Zealand in its national game. Unfortunately not all children who grow up in this country are as fortunate as I have been and it is my goal and passion to see this change. I have joined The KidsCan Charitable Trust as an Official Patron along with Ali Williams to assist in levelling the playing field for the thousands of disadvantaged children who are in urgent need of positive intervention. I’m proud of the work we are doing together to in the Raincoats for Kids, Food for Kids and Shoes for Kids programmes. Imagine just for a moment giving free adidas raincoats to children who would otherwise travel to school cold and wet during winter. It’s difficult to explain in a letter just how much it really means to them but I can tell you from personal experience, the smiles on the faces of the kids say it all. I urge you to join with us so we can expand our programmes to change the lives of even more children around New Zealand.
Regards
