StandTall

KidsCan StandTall was co-founded by Mark Hotchin, one of New Zealand’s most successful businessmen, and is a motivational programme developed for children in the low decile primary schools we currently support.

The aim of the programme is to provide inspirational and challenging excursions, underpinned by core values for children who don’t experience life beyond the corner dairy. The programme instills pride, increases confidence and gives children who are less fortunate than others a will to succeed at school and in life. Year 7 and 8 children from each participating school are selected to take part in the programme which is delivered over a twenty four month period. The kids must earn their right to be in the programme by agreeing to follow the StandTall Code of Conduct. Successful New Zealand business, sports, arts and entertainment personality’s act as StandTall ambassadors/role models accompanying children on each outing, developing ongoing positive relationships with them and the school they attend.

In 2009 this programme will initially start running in Auckland before moving into other regions.
