KidsCan & Cadbury
1 in 8 Kiwi kids feel excluded from sport because they don’t have the gear. We’ve partnered with Cadbury to help address this problem.
Donate Your Kit
We're working together with Cadbury to ensure that sports kit donated through the 'Donate your Kit' programme gets into the hands of Kiwi kids in need. Through our connection with over 700 New Zealand schools, we are able to deliver the kit where it's needed most. To date over 35,000 items of sports gear have been collected from all across New Zealand.

Donate your Kit Grant Programme
We have partnered with Cadbury to set up the Donate your Kit Grant Programme to assist children who would otherwise be unable to participate in sport. The Programme's aim is to encourage, and to recognise the vital role sports play in developing children’s wellbeing and sense of community. The grants will be accessible to local schools who are able to apply for school level grants, as well as on the behalf of individual students. There are four tiers of grants available focusing on sports participation for students within a school, in a community or national forum:
Individual (local/community) sports grant – Aimed at providing Kiwis kids in financial hardship the opportunity to join their local sports clubs.
Individual (regional/national) sports grant – Aimed at providing promising athletes the opportunity to shine at a regional/national stage.
Group/Team sports grant – Aimed at supporting sports teams to compete in tournaments/events they would otherwise not have access to.
School participation grant – Aimed at creating sustained participation in sport for lower decile communities by investing in sports facilities for their local schools.
If you want to apply for the grants programme for an individual, group or team or for your school, please contact your school directly and ask them to reach out to KidsCan.
Cadbury and KidsCan Chocolate Block
The Cadbury Dairy Milk Donation Block in stores this July will be helping raise funds to support the Donate your Kit Grants Programme. 100% of Cadbury’s proceeds from the sale of the block, at minimum $500K, will be given to KidsCan to help get more Kiwi kids into sport. If you would like to contribute, look out for the specially designed Cadbury Dairy Milk block in your local supermarket.
We have already helped 10,000 kids in need access to sporting gear and together we can help thousands more.
Who are we?
KidsCan helps children in need across the country, providing daily necessities so they’re ready to learn and succeed at school.
Right now we work with over 750 schools to give 180,000 kids access to our programmes, but to keep it up we need your help too.
