In March 2013, KidsCan Ambassador and Air NZ pilot, Mike Allsop completed 7 marathons in 7 days in 7 continents! He did this to challenge himself but also to raise funds for KidsCan, achieving a total of $25,000 which has since increased to $75,000 thanks to an extremely generous $50,000 donation from Hyundai.

Mike, who was a guest speaker at Hyundai’s recent launch of the new Santa Fe in Mt Cook, spoke about the 777 project and how it raised over $25,000 for KidsCan. After the talk the Hyundai General Manager, Andy Sinclair, approached Mike to say Hyundai would match the $25,000 already raised! Then a few minutes later the dealers from around the country matched it again.... A total of $50,000 from Hyundai NZ! “I'm just blown away by the generosity and caring... This will make a huge difference to underprivileged children right here in our own country. Thank you Hyundai New Zealand, “says Mike Allsop.

KidsCan are so grateful to Hyundai for this donation that will go towards programmes that support the education of thousands of disadvantaged kiwi kids in 276 low decile schools nationwide.

“We believe that KidsCan is an incredible charity and are happy to be supporting them in helping less fortunate children have the same chances to succeed in life as others. Our staff look forward to the opportunity of helping distribute the food we donate and being directly involved in this great cause.” Andy Sinclair - GM, Hyundai New Zealand.
