Flight Centre Foundation has partnerred with KidsCan's 'Shoes for Kids' and 'Orchards in Schools' programmes.

Flight Centre Foundation will support the planting of five orchards in schools around the country this year, and distributiuon of 625 pairs of shoes and socks. 

The 'Shoes for Kids' programme is designed to get disadvantaged Kiwi kids to and through the school gates safely, and help them participatye in school activities, sports and trips at an equal level to their peers. 

The 'Orchards in Schools' programme is KidsCan's latest initiative aimed at helping provide a sustainable solution that teaches young Kiwis life skills and gives them access to the fresh and healthy food at school. 

Sixteen Flighties volunteered for the first orchard planting at New Lynn Primary School in West Auckland in May.

More than 30 fruit trees were planted and over the next 12 months four more orchards will be planted in South Auckland, New Plymouth, Christchurch and Hastings. And yesterday, Flighties distributed 178 pairs of shoes and socks to the children at Sutton Park School in Auckland.
