Help give 1,500 children in need the essentials to start school

The need is growing. Donate now to help 1,500 children get KidsCan support this year.

Principals tell us the cost-of-living crisis is hitting families hard. Parents are having to choose between paying rent or buying food. Children are turning up to school with empty lunch boxes – or not turning up at all.

A recent survey of schools waiting for KidsCan support estimated that 1500 children would need ongoing food support this year. KidsCan currently provides food, shoes, warm jackets, and health essentials to over 900 schools across New Zealand. But right now, we need your help to bring an additional 58 schools off the waitlist and into our programme.

Education gives children a pathway out of poverty

We support over 900 schools with regular food, jackets, shoes and health products, helping Kiwi kids learn and thrive at school. Teachers tell us this support results in higher attendance, better learning in the classroom and kids with more confidence. A recent survey of 58 schools currently waiting for our support found that every responding school is seeing children arrive without enough food to get through the day. With your help, we can give these children the chance for a brighter future.
